| MDM Campaign: Moving Forward | ||||
We are pleased to announce that on January 19, 2007, CEE’s Board of Directors authorized Phase 3 of the Motor Decisions Matter campaign. The unanimous vote followed a presentation by Dale Basso, Product Marketing Manager for Reliance Electric and Chairman of NEMA’s Motors & Generators Section, who spoke in favor of continuing MDM on behalf of all the sponsors. Now it is time to put our joint message, tools and partnership to work in the field. In Phase 3, we are fully focused on helping sponsors work together to promote motor management at the local level. Take a look at the events below or on-line, and you’ll see that sponsors are learning how to communicate the benefits of sound motor planning and build partnerships with other participating sponsors. As we move forward, success depends on everyone’s active participation. By working together, we can help industrial facility managers manage their motor fleets energy-efficiently and profitably. Join us in the first exciting year of Phase 3! |

| MDM Welcomes Austin Energy | ||||
We'd like to welcome Austin Energy as the newest sponsor of the MDM campaign. Austin Energy is a municipal utility that serves approximately 331,000 residential and 39,700 commercial customers in the metropolitan Austin area.
In addition to providing support and incentives to end-users, Austin Energy is looking to reach customers through local motor vendors. Austin Energy is currently working with MDM campaign staff to plan an educational session for vendors and trade organizations in May. “Austin Energy is excited about our new partnership with MDM," says Jon Luden, Program Manager in the Commercial Energy Management Programs. "We look forward to utilizing MDM resources available to us. Our goal is to encourage greater motor planning and increased installation of NEMA Premium Motors in the Austin area.” To learn more about Austin Energy’s business incentive programs, contact Jon at 512-482-5378 or visit the company Web site. |

| Summary of Motor & Drive Incentive Programs - Coming Soon | ||||
CEE staff is in the process of revising a summary of energy-efficiency incentives for motors and drives in the U.S. and Canada. The summary contains concise descriptions of programs that CEE members offer to commercial and industrial customers who buy energy-efficient equipment or services. CEE members represent 90 percent of rate-payer funded energy-efficiency programs for electricity, so the program summary is an excellent resource. Motor manufacturers and service providers use the summary to help field staff find and participate in local efficiency programs. And program administrators use the summary to learn about commercial and industrial motor and drive programs. The summary includes information for approximately 40 - 50 energy-efficiency programs. The final document will feature electronic navigation and provide easy access to program type (prescriptive, etc), who offers it, and how to participate. The summary will be available on-line by the end of March. View CEE's 2004 Summary of Programs for Motors and Drives. |
